Hope Bruening
Young Strings Coach
Hope Bruening has served as the Orchestra Director at Alcott Middle School in Norman Public Schools for the past three years. Originally from Texas, Ms. Bruening came to Oklahoma to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education at Oklahoma State University, where she also
studied orchestral conducting with Dr. Thomas Taylor Dickey. Ms. Bruening has spent time as a fellow with Girls Who Conduct, participated in the UMKC Conservatory's Orchestral Conducting
Workshop, and has served as a clinician in Texas. Ms. Bruening assisted Mr. Mark Osborn with the Norman Festival Strings for two seasons, and is ecstatic to move into the role as the Young
Strings Coach for the Sinfonia and Chamber Orchestras! Ms. Bruening's favorite string instrument to play is the viola.
