Interim Program Manager – Students and Families
Maria Marcos is excited to join Oklahoma Youth Orchestras as Program Manager of
Students and Families. As an alum of OKYO, Maria is looking forward to giving back to the organization what they provided her: a passion for creating community through
music. A native Oklahoman, Maria enjoys performing and teaching in the state. She performs as an orchestral musician, chamber musician, and recording artist. Most notably, Maria is a member of Stringsmen, a multi-genre string quartet with an emphasis on custom arrangements, outreach, and collaborations.
Prior to joining OKYO, she has filled the role of Logistics Coordinator and Head Counselor at Next Generation Performing Arts Camp, performs managerial and marketing duties in Stringsmen, and is personal assistant to Jeffrey Grogan. Outside of music and administrative work, Maria enjoys watching Star Wars and building Lego with her fiance, Jose Batty, and cuddling with their dog, Henry. Maria graduated in 2022 with her Master of Music with honors from the University of Central Oklahoma and holds a Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Science.
