Kristin Geist is the orchestra director at Western Oaks Middle School in the Putnam City School District. She has been part of the Oklahoma Youth Orchestras Artistic Team since 2008 leading Festival Strings Edmond from 2008 to 2018. She has led Festival Strings OKC since 2018, Chamber Orchestra since 2021, and has conducted festival orchestras in Tulsa and Norman. She is a graduate of Oklahoma City University where she earned her bachelor degree in Music Education, and she completed her graduate degree in Educational Leadership at the University of Central Oklahoma in 2017.
Formerly, Mrs. Geist was the orchestra director at Barbara Bush Middle School in Carrolton Farmers-Branch Independent School District for four years, and directed the Cheyenne Middle School orchestra in the Edmond Public School District.She and her husband, Nick, reside in Oklahoma City with their son, Andrew, and daughter, Eleanor.
