Studio Rockestra is moving to Monday nights for the 2022-23 Season.
They will meet from 7:15pm-8:30pm at OCU in BL01.
Studio Rockestra is a non-auditioned full ensemble that explores rock, pop, video game and movie music. It focuses on proper technique, improvisation and works with amplification and effects, while preparing students for fun performance opportunities.
Type of Ensemble: Studio Rockestra is an ensemble for all instruments including strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion and rhythm section (guitar, bass guitar, piano and drum set). Students should be in at least grade 6 with no less than two years of playing experience.

Rehearsals and Performances: Rehearsals take place each Monday night September through May in the Wanda L. Bass School of Music at Oklahoma City University. There are periodic breaks scheduled that generally follow the public school academic calendar. Season schedules are made available to families each summer. Studio Rockestra performs three to four concerts per year, depending on the season. Formal concerts often take place at the Performing Arts Theatre at Oklahoma City Community College but additional concerts are scheduled throughout the season and could include Holiday Performances at local establishments and outdoor festival performances..
Auditions: Auditions are NOT REQUIRED for Studio Rockestra. Students may enroll in Studio Rockestra beginning in May for the following season.
Family Discounts of 15% are also available for households with more than one student participating in OKYO ensembles.
***Test Drive Studio Rockestra before committing to the full year. Students enrolling in Studio Rockestra may attend rehearsals in September and October without a financial commitment. Payment of Membership Dues will be required by November 1.***
What to Bring to Rehearsal: Students should bring their instruments, necessary accessories, a music stand, music and a pencil to each rehearsal.
