Rockin' Strings Cocoa and Carols Concert

Studio Rockestra

Ensemble Update: Mrs. Courtney Monk’s Rockin’ Strings is now Studio Rockestra and is welcoming woodwind, brass, guitar, and drum set students in addition to strings.

Rockin’ Strings was created in 2014 by Mrs. Karina Fisher as a pop and rock string orchestra to explore everything from Katy Perry to Led Zeppelin and famous movie music. The ensemble has grown to now include woodwind, brass, guitar, and drum set students. Studio Rockestra students will explore proper technique, improvisation, amplification, and effects, while preparing for fun and unique concerts. Past students have enjoyed performing for OKC Philharmonic’s “Wiggle Out Loud Festival,” Oklahoma City’s “Opening Night” Concert, The Festival of the Arts, and The OKC Blue Halftime Show! This group rehearses once a week on Thursday evenings, does not require an audition, and is conducted by Mrs. Courtney Monk.
