Guest Conductor, Oklahoma Youth Philharmonic
Jeremy Scott is in his 13th year of teaching and has served as Head Orchestra Director at Putnam City North High School for nine years and he currently serves as the performing arts department head. In his first two years, he expanded the program by establishing a third high school orchestra while teaching AP Music Theory, and assisting at multiple schools. He later helped create an assistant director position to support the growing program. Under his leadership, the PC North Orchestra has earned 7 sweepstakes and superior ratings in all categories, performing in Missouri, Texas, Colorado, and internationally at London’s Cadogan Hall in 2020 and St. John’s Smith Square in 2024. In 2023, PCN Orchestra was named an OkMEA Honor Group for the 4th time in the school’s history. Most recently, the PC North Orchestra was invited to perform in the prestigious ASTA National Orchestra Festival in Atlanta, GA where they competed against the best high school orchestras in the US.
Previously, Jeremy directed bands and orchestras at Belle Isle Enterprise Middle School, where his ensembles received top ratings, and he founded an award-winning full orchestra. He has held numerous leadership roles for the state, where he has been a part of OSSAA, NCHO and All State committees including serving as 2020–2021 All-State Orchestra Chair and is currently the Orchestra Vice President for OkMEA.
Beyond teaching, Jeremy is a professional violinist, but also a vocalist, has served as worship leader and composer for churches writing several hymns. His compositions are used in worship across the U.S. In 2022, he co-founded Vocal Ascend LLC, releasing two successful albums featuring singers from across the country.
Jeremy loves cooking a variety of dishes on his Blackstone Griddle for his wife, Tara, their children, Eli and Charlee, and even their dog, Sammy, at their home in Oklahoma City. He is deeply grateful to his parents for fostering his love of music and to his wife for her unwavering support.
